On Sunday, January 22, 2012, the New York-based Federation of Turkish-American Associations (FTAA) will be holding elections of its new President. Established in 1955, FTAA is one of the oldest grassroots organizations of Turkish- and Turkic-Americans.
We are pleased to inform that one of the board directors of Azerbaijani-American Council (AAC), Ali Cinar, is a candidate in these elections. Ali had graduated from Istanbul University Department of Economics in 1999, and in 2002, received his MBA degree from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. Over the past decade, he worked as a Marketing Manager at the Concord Company and Western Union. As an activist of Turkish-American community, a regional Vice President for the Assembly of Turkish-American Associations (ATAA) and an adviser to Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA), Mr. Cinar has been instrumental in organization and execution of activities by AAC, ASA, ATAA, Pax Turcica Institute and other grassroots organizations in New York, Washington, DC and other regions nationwide.
Over the years, Ali Cinar has proven himself as a sincere patriot, an ardent advocate and a dedicated supporter of Azerbaijani- and Turkic-American causes. Based on this outstanding record, AAC is pleased to join ASA in Azerbaijani-American endorsement of Ali Cinar's candidacy for FTAA President. We also wish good luck to all candidates running for FTAA offices in the upcoming January 22, 2012 elections.
