Azerbaijanis honor the 96th anniversary of the Republic

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., May 28, 2014 /Palm Beach Post/ - Today, Azerbaijani-Americans celebrate the 96th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the world’s first predominantly Muslim secular democracy. Recognize the 1992 Khojaly Massacre

BURLINGAME, Calif., Feb 22, 2014 /San Mateo Daily Journal/ -- On Feb. 26, Azerbaijani-Americans will commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the first largest mass killing of civilians in Europe since World War II. On that night in 1992, during the Nagorno-Karabakh War, Armenian forces supported by Russia’s 366th infantry regiment attacked the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly and massacred its fleeing residents.
